Dihydromyrcenol has a clean, fresh scent with citrus-woody facets and a light lavender-like undertone. It is widely used to give fragrance compositions a washed, airy, cologne-like opening.
It is used in spray perfumes, soaps, detergents and fabric care products where a fresh, clean top note is wanted. It also serves as a blending material in aroma chemical formulations for attars and other perfumery work.
Blend in small proportions with other aroma chemicals or essential oils to build the fresh top notes of a fragrance. Dissolve in alcohol or a suitable carrier before use in sprays, and mix directly into soap or detergent bases during formulation.
