Dipropylene Glycol, known as DPG, is a clear, nearly colourless liquid with little to no odour of its own. It is used as a carrier and diluting agent in fragrance work, where it helps spread and carry scent materials without adding its own smell.
It is widely used in attar and perfume blending, soap making, candle making and cosmetics, where it is mixed with concentrated oils or aroma chemicals to bring them to a workable strength before use.
Mix DPG with fragrance oils or aroma chemicals in the proportion needed for your blend, stirring until fully combined. It can be added gradually while testing scent strength, since it dilutes without changing the character of the fragrance.
