Ethyl Maltol has a sweet, sugary scent often described as cotton candy or caramelized sugar, with a warm, candy-like character that carries well in a blend. It is commonly reached for when a composition needs a sweet, gourmand facet.
It is used in perfume oils, attars and spray perfumes to build sweet or gourmand accords, and finds use in soap and candle fragrance as well as in cosmetic scenting.
Dissolve in alcohol or a suitable carrier oil before blending, as it has limited solubility on its own, and add in small proportions to the main composition since its sweet note is strong and carries far.
