Galbanum Resinoid Pure carries a strong green, bitter-herbaceous character with woody and slightly sharp undertones, close to the smell of crushed stems and leaves. It is dense and sticky in its raw form, and the odour remains noticeable even in small amounts within a blend.
It is used by perfumers and attar makers to build green and chypre accords, and to add a herbaceous top note to woody or floral compositions. It also finds use in soap and cosmetic fragrance bases where a green facet is wanted.
Dissolve a small portion in a suitable solvent such as DPG or alcohol before blending, as the resinoid is thick and does not mix directly into oils. Add in small proportions to a composition and adjust gradually, since the green note is strong and can dominate a blend if overused.
