Hebanolide is a musk aroma chemical with a clean, soft, slightly powdery musk character. It sits quietly in a blend, giving a smooth, rounded background rather than a sharp top note, and it blends well with floral, woody and amber materials.
It is used by perfumers and attar makers as a base or fixative note in spray perfumes, attars, soaps and cosmetic fragrances, where it helps other materials last longer on the skin or in the finished product.
Dissolve in alcohol or a suitable carrier oil before blending into a perfume or attar base. Add in small proportion to the overall formula and adjust gradually while smelling the blend, since musks are strong in concentrated form.
